Fenceline & Tailfin
Privacy policy
The short of it: we store what the sites need to work, nothing is sold or shared, and your photos remain yours — the Photographer Agreement covers that side.
Who we are
Fenceline and its sister site Tailfin are community-run, non-commercial hobby sites for planespotters and aviation enthusiasts. They share one account system: signing up on either site creates one account valid on both.
What we store
Your account email and password hash (handled by our auth provider — we never see your password); your profile (handle, display name, bio, home airport); the photos you upload and the details you attach to them (registration, airport, date, caption, camera); your sightings log, follows and likes; registry contributions and moderation records (who submitted, reviewed, approved or rejected what, and when); and your acceptance history of the Photographer Agreement.
What we use it for
Running the sites: showing your public photos with your credit, operating the private hangar, feeds, logbook and moderation queues, and keeping an audit trail of registry changes and agreement acceptances. Nothing else — no advertising, no profiling, no selling or sharing of data with third parties.
Cookies
Only the session cookies needed to keep you signed in. No analytics or tracking cookies.
What's public
Whatever you choose to publish: approved photos with your handle and display name, your profile page, your sightings, follows and likes. Photos in your hangar stay private to you and the moderators reviewing a submission.
Your rights
You can edit your profile and delete your photos at any time — deletion removes the files, not just the listing. To delete your account and everything attached to it, or to exercise any other data right, contact the site operator and it will be handled promptly.
Changes
If this policy changes materially, we'll say so on the site before the change takes effect.
